  • Time to buff up…

    |September 2nd, 2008|

If people see me now than when they saw me three-four years ago, they’ll definitely say that I grew so thin and slim.  I was always concerned about my health and experimented with my body. To be true, I was in shape but ever since, I fell in someone’s relation, I didn’t have much time and all my workout routines went in vain. It’s my worst excuse but that’s the reality.

I don’t know What Was I Thinking? But this picture was taken today as soon as I pressed couple of push-ups followed by some dumbbell curl. I could feel that my shirts are becoming tight on me, and it feels really good when that happens.

This one is just when I was about to wrap up my push-ups session. This pictures were taken by my camera in automatic mode, it was calmly put on the top of someone’s CPU box which I’ve to take care of when I’m free.

If you ask me which part of my body I really like most …ummmm…it’s my bicep. When I used to workout back in those days, bicep was the only part that grew bigger, faster than my friends,.. in my case. So, that’s how I got attention whenever someone saw my photographs. Hence, I was obsessed with bulged biceps. I even made jokes on IRC chatrooms with other girls where they fantasized as if hanging on my biceps and fooling around with me. Right now, I’ve nothing to flaunt about, I’m just recalling those glorious days of mine when I enjoyed my funfilled moments at most. I’m now back to slim/thin guy with no bulged muscles at all. I’m more into meditation and YOGA postures, trying to find eternal peace/bliss. YOGA truly makes someone very stable, non aggresive and disciplined. I came to learn that herein western, people are mixing body building with Yoga. Got the point??

Now this is some crunchy action. I was laying down… whisssssssssss

UP! UP! UP!!.. time to lift up.. pheww.. it burns on your belly when you lift up and down yourself, you know? give it a try.. don’t bend your neck too forward.. just keep it straight else you’ll hurt your lower back and neck instead of crunching your ABs. ;)

The reason behind ‘Time to buff up..’ title is because, I started lifting some weights since 2-3 days and now, I’ve set a routine for it. As soon as I get back from my work, I’ll hit the dumbbells. Literally, it sounds like doing things without sense but I do cycle my workout session. If I do bicep one day, chest for another day, lower thigh and crunch for other day, cycling the workout session is very effective and maintains the shape for long time. If you workout this way, eventually, if you had to take a month vacation, you’ll not loose your size and shape but if you are into some workout routines like always bicep, always triceps or all workouts at once and regularly, you’ll reach nowhere. There is one more aspect that I’m aware of. Muscle Memory, its something that muscle and brain has to work together. If you train yourself with the same regular stuff, your muscle adapts the training and it won’t grow at all. So, one should be concerned about cycling their session.

If bodybuilder stopped training and after few years, if he starts working out, he’ll see the same shape coming back within 1 or 2 months. Because he knows what to do and how to do, it’s just that blink which would make him to train and take him to disciplined and healthy life. I don’t consider myself bodybuilder at all, I’m just a next block normal guy who just wants to be fit and look good. Even if i use the term ‘body building’ , I’m just someone who is concerned about keeping ownself fit.

All of a sudden why am I concerned about body building, well… to live fit and healthy. All clothes will fit in perfectly and minor season change/etc won’t affect your hardened immune system. That’s my concern, besides, to be stress free. Whole day, I’ve to deal with hundreds of people and by the end of the day, I’m so stressed that I just fall on my bed and treat myself very bad. I get so easily irritated. Now, with these 2-3 days session, I’m seeing gradual but effective change on me.

This is now time to buff up myself.
